EC Directive conformity assessment and certification against Directive 97/23/EC on Pressure Equipment. Conformity routes cover quality assurance, design appraisal and direct inspection for pressure equipment. Services that can be provided include material approval, design examination, quality system approval, approval of tests on prototypes and approval of joining procedures and personnel.

Accreditation / other recognition

Lloyd's Register Verification Limited is designated as a Notified Body in the UK by the Department of Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) for all conformity assessment routes under the Directive. In addition Lloyd's Register Verification Limited is a Recognised Third Party Organisation for non-destructive examination operator qualifications, permanent joining procedure qualifications and permanent joining operator qualifications.

UKAS carries out the assessment and monitoring of Notified Bodies on behalf of BERR.
