Container

LRQA work with organisations to help them fulfil the container scheme

What is the container scheme?

Cargo-carrying equipment comprises freight containers, portable tanks, swap bodies, offshore containers (offshore baskets) and road tankers. The design and construction of such equipment is regulated by national and international statute, which requires design appraisal and production audit to be carried out by an independent third party.

Thereafter, the equipment is subject to statutory regulations which specify periodic in-service inspections.

How we can help

The Lloyd's Register Group is approved and authorised by governmental regulating authorities to carry out these inspections and issue the appropriate reports to the owner.

We have developed an electronic data interchange systems (based on email, website) which feed a central database and allow for the transmission of certification direct to the equipment owner.

What are the benefits?

Ascertaining of compliance with the statutory regulations required for periodic testing of the containers.

Evidence that the containers are in accordance with owner's requirements for build quality and in-service condition.
