What is TAPA?

Transported Asset Protection Association is a forum of security, insurance and logistics professionals representing high technology companies who have organized for the purpose of addressing the emerging cargo security threats that are common to the technology industry.

Objectives of TAPA?

  • Establish best known security practices in freight transportation and influence their adoption by regulatory bodies.

  • Promote compliance with identified best practices.

  • Identify latest technology in protection of assets.

  • Share information among members.

Why are TAPA standards important to YOU?

  • If you are involved in transport of Hi-Tech cargoes, it is likely that the buyer company will require some form of TAPA or TAPA equivalent standards, so you need to know what they are and how they are applied.

  • Without knowledge or experience of TAPA standards you may not even get a “foot in door” for applying for any Hi-Tech tender.

TAPA – Certification (FSR-Freight Security Requirements)

  • To ensure the safe and secure in-transit storage and warehousing of any TAPA members (Buyers) assets throughout the world.

  • Specifies the minimum acceptable standards for security throughout the supply chain.

  • Determine the storage/warehousing building classification:A,B or C.

  • A (highest security requirements) to C (lowest security requirements).
