LRQA has recently certified the energy management system of BIC Violex SA against the requirements of the international standard ISO 50001. In addition to this achievement LRQA has also awarded BIC Violex SA with an EWS (European Water Stewardship) certificate for its water management practices. The scope of the certification covers the design, production and distribution of razor blades and razors. Both of these represent major developments for the company’s environmental performance and underline the company’s clear focus towards sustainable environmental practices.
Following the EWS award, BIC Violex SA has become the first factory in Greece to hold the certificate and has also become one of the first organisations to gain the award globally.
The EWS and ISO 50001 certifications have been achieved in addition to the existing ISO 14001 (environmental management system) certification held by Bic Violex SA, in an effort to further promote their well-established commitment to environmental protection, with emphasis now upon sustainable water management and energy efficiency.
Commenting on BIC’s achievement, LRQA Area Technical Manager Katerina Liana said, “LRQA congratulates the management and staff of Bic Violex SA for achieving these two important certifications as well as for their commitment to innovation and continuous improvement”.
