05/11/2009

How could organizations deal with the most serious global economic crisis in decades

Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) took part in Carbon Forum Asia, sharing our expertise with the audience. The conference highlighted critical issues on climate change and also opportunities in the carbon economy.

Simon Batters, Vice President LRQA Japan & Korea was part of the panel titled “New Opportunities: Japan and Korea Post 2012", under the Policy & Market Initiatives Stream on Tuesday 27th October 2009.

Also, Anne-Marie Warris, Chair of Leading Global Environmental Committee - Lloyd’s Register Group, moderated the panel titled ‘What to Expect from the Inclusion of Aviation and Maritime Transport in the Carbon Trading Market?’ on Monday 26th October 2009.

How could organizations deal with the most serious global economic crisis in decades and negotiating an ambitious agreement on climate change? How can they be turned into opportunity? What policies, incentives and investments will most effectively stimulate low-carbon growth? What are the pathways to a sustainable, global economy? What are the challenges and opportunities for the Asia-Pacific region?
